How to factory data reset on Xperia E1

In this article i will show you how to do factory data reset on sony xperia e1, you may asking why do i need factory reset? and when i need to do it?

There will be times when your phone needs to be reset to default settings, for example when your phone becomes very slow or after flashing new firmware.

Yes, after flashing with new firmware, it is recommended that you do factory data reset, you can also do it before flashing, doesn't matter.

NOTE:
backup all of your data before doing factory data reset, everything on phone's memory and internal storage will be deleted.

how to factory reset from inside the phone :
  • go to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset
  • make sure the "Erase internal storage" option is checked
  • press the "Reset phone" button
  • there will be another confirmation, press the "Erase everything" button
  • wait until the whole process finish

Factory data reset may take about 5 minutes depending on how much data you have on your device. All data will be erased from your device and will not be able to be restored.

Note: if you perform a reset, you will not be able to access the files on any of your encrypted SD cards again.

In the past, you can also do factory data reset from outside the phone using SUS (Sony Update Service) software.

But sony decided to discontinued SUS since july 2014, so we can't use it anymore, the only way to factory reset is from inside the phone.
